A SMARTER WAY TO MAINTAIN YOUR LANDSCAPE
Across the country, landscapes are facing a new reality. Longer dry seasons, regional droughts, and increasing water demand are placing growing pressure on one of our most valuable resources.
For decades, the standard solution for keeping lawns green has been simple: water more.
ColorWRX was built around a different idea.
REDUCE IRRIGATION BY UP TO
40%
Maintain a vibrant green lawn while dramatically reducing water use.
THE COLORWRX IDEA
a different approach
Beautiful landscapes should not require excessive water use.
ColorWRX restores the rich green appearance of healthy turf while allowing landscapes to operate with smarter, more efficient irrigation.
Instead of watering heavily just to maintain color, ColorWRX enhances the natural tone of turf while allowing watering schedules to be reduced.
In many landscapes this allows irrigation to be lowered by up to 40% while maintaining a vibrant lawn.
Homeowners and landscape professionals can maintain curb appeal while using dramatically less water.
When multiplied across neighborhoods, cities, and communities, even modest reductions in irrigation can conserve millions of gallons of water each year.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
LESS WATER. LESS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT.
Reducing irrigation demand creates a cascade of environmental benefits.
When less water moves through landscapes there is:
• less fertilizer runoff
• reduced pesticide transport
• lower groundwater contamination
• less nutrient loading into rivers and waterways
ColorWRX exists to help lead that shift toward more efficient landscape management.
WATER
Conserve our most valuable resource.
FERTILIZER
Reduce fertilizer runoff into our waterways.
PESTICIDES
Limit pesticide transport across landscapes.
GROUNDWATER
Protect against groundwater contamination.
RIVERS
Reduce nutrient loading in rivers and streams.
WILDLIFE
Help sustain local wildlife habitats.

HOW IT WORKS
ColorWRX GREEN is designed to interact only with the outer surface of the grass blade.
ColorWRX GREEN pigments bond to the cuticle layer — the thin waxy coating that naturally protects turf leaves.
Once applied, pigment particles adhere to this outer surface and form a uniform color layer that moves with the leaf blade itself.
Because the pigment remains on the exterior surface, the plant continues normal biological processes including:
• photosynthesis
• respiration
• transpiration
The result is a natural‑looking color that withstands mowing, sunlight, and weather while leaving the plant’s physiology unaffected.

IRON OXIDE IN NATURE
Iron oxide is a naturally occurring mineral found in many environments.
Research shows iron oxides help unlock phosphorus for plant growth.
Mineral‑based compounds support healthier soil ecosystems.
THE IRON OXIDE CONNECTION
ColorWRX pigments are mineral‑based color compounds commonly found in nature.
One of the most widely used pigment minerals in ColorWRX colorants is iron oxide — a naturally occurring material used throughout agriculture and soil systems.
Research from Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering has shown that iron oxides can act as natural catalysts in soil, helping convert organic phosphorus into inorganic phosphorus the form plants can absorb for growth.
Iron oxide surfaces can facilitate reactions that help unlock nutrients that would otherwise remain unavailable to plants.
Because iron oxides are also the mineral compounds used in many ColorWRX pigments, they reflect materials already present in many natural environments.
While ColorWRX is designed primarily to reflect natural color, its pigment structure reflects mineral systems commonly studied in soil science and plant nutrition research.
In short:
ColorWRX works with the natural biology of turf — not against it.
MULCH SCIENCE
ColorWRX mulch colorants bond to the surface of natural wood fibers.
Pigment particles adhere to the porous structure of mulch, allowing the material to breathe and break down naturally over time.

PINE STRAW SCIENCE
On pine straw, pigments adhere to the natural waxy surface of the needles.
This restores the deep orange tone of fresh pine straw while remaining flexible and weather resistant.

THE COLORWRX MISSION
RETHINKING HOW LANDSCAPES STAY GREEN
ColorWRX exists to shift how we care for landscapes. Not by asking people to give up beautiful lawns, but by providing smarter technology that allows landscapes to stay green while respecting the natural resources our environment depends on. With ColorWRX, a greener lawn and a healthier planet can move forward together.
